The exercises are based on eighth note hand patterns, with the addition of different eighth note and sixteenth note foot patterns. The book is divided into two chapters.

The first chapter introduces the student to many eighth note hand and foot combinations. In chapter two, the student will learn to add sixteenth note foot patterns to the eighth note hand patterns they learned in section one.
