BUDDY RICH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP CONCERT
Six of the world's finest drummers came together with the Buddy Rich Big Band on October 14th, 1989, to honor Buddy. This historic event was taped live at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. Tapes three and four were recorded on April 8th, 1991 at the Ritz Theater in New York City, and include clips of Buddy himself.

TAPE ONE: Louie Bellson, Dennis Chambers and Gregg Bissonette are featured. There's a trio which features them showing off their double bass chops and several amazing individual solos. 64 min.

Recorded in 1985, the master tapes were thought to have been lost in a fire. They were discovered in 2000, along with the original "surround sound" digital master, and extensive work was done to bring about this state-of-the-art audio mix. The concert includes Buddy Rich standards "Cottontail," Mexicali Nose," and the unforgettable classic "West Side Story Medley."
